trouble installing MsHarmonyPack v1.4 January-2012

hello im from australia and i have some trouble installing the custom firmware
i downloaded the pack and got it to do the first firmware update as it automatically loads into the dtv

Please follow these instructions:
- copy only the image to empty USB disk
- insert USB disk and perform flash (keep pressing record on front page of PVR and restart the PVR, after the LG logo appear on screen you can stop pressing the record button)
- after flash, perform initialization of PVR (set the network, language, format HDD and don't forgot to set the destination for recordings to have on internal HDD)
- if this all works, now copy the custom package to USB
- put the USB disk to PVR and reboot the PVR (please use the power on/off button)
- now the system is starting and the package should be installed - during the installation the system is under heavy load and the remote control cannot respond, installation should take less than 5 minutes and after it the PVR is rebooted automatically
- if there is no reboot, there is an error or you have custom package previously installed

but i cant get it to load the Custom-KV-v108-IV.tar.gz. i have no web access

i have read a few threads about this and some people have found a solution but
i dont know anything about telnet so having trouble there.
i read you could ssh into it but that is not working either

I installed new firmware from HarmonyPack 1.4. I think everything is OK because when i restart my
LG MS450H is immediately going to TV channels. I have a problem to install Custom-KV-v108-IV.tar.gz.
I can't connect through web server . I have package.tar.gz file on my usb stick and then i switch off and switch on LG450H. Usb is blinking few times but there is not restarting after 10 min.
Trough telnet I have this:
root@Venus:~# /usr/local/etc/starthddservices.sh
swapon: /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2: Device or resource busy

but then im lost from there?

i have the Custom-KV-v108-IV.tar.gz. file on the usb stick and it is inserted
whats next? is there an easier program to use rather than windows telnet?

i can seem to access it by filezilla or winscp
i also cant access the tmp dir

i tpye the codes 999, 987 or 986 and it moves the volume slider bar 907 keeps changing the channels up
i dont even know where to find information about these codes these are just random ones i have found on the posts


also i cant find any information about what the update does and how i can use it? i read this thread https://ms450.forosactivos.net/t667-newbie-question but cant find any pdf or anything about it.

Regarding the second part of firmware update,
i would retry again from a different usb key, all brand formatedd, and just put the package.tar.gz in it.

it should go automatically.


if not decompress de package, and look for the main installation file performUpdate.sh

We wish the installation would go easier in a single step, but due to the limitation in the firmware lg file, it was decided to go in these two steps installation process.

i tried installing v1.0 and it worked fine with both firmware install and custom lgmenu so i now have lg menu 1.0.4
i then tried installing 1.4 again and i have the same problem it installs the firmware but not the custom lg menu

and edited the stathddservices.sh file (with the VI editor) but then i was getting permission denied when i tried to run it from telnet
and still cant get it working


i have now reflashed with v1.4 firmware but put the custom 107.tar.gz from the 1.3 zip file file instead of the custom 108.tar.gz and that flashed perfectly so there something wrong with the 108 package

what extra in 108 ?

nothing really extra in 1.0.8 , but some minor fixes.
