I would suggest to uncomment the lines ( removing the # at the beginning of the line ) for launching the nmbd daemon in the S10samba of the inet.d directory.
I suggest also to add the ability to start an stop the torrent daemon.

Please, can you tell me the benefit of enabling the nmbd daemon and wasting the memory with it? I don't see any usage for this.
The rtorrent is a service but still not have the control page.
I was thinking that nmbd is mandatory with samba. Is that true ? If yes then why launching samba without nmdb ?
The NMBD is daemon which "provide netbios nameserver support to clients". This component is not needed for file-sharing, but helps with some sort of "searching for service" (this is imho: to support calling device by it's name according using the IP address, but this have some limitation - you can see in documentation it replay for broadcast requests, but the current Venus kernel doesn't support broadcast, so this very welcome feature cannot be used Sad )
So why we launch the SMBD withou NMBD? Simple question witch simple answer - to save some bytes from memory.
The rtorrent service can be controlled in v104 (released soon).

Man page of NMBD: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/manpages-3/nmbd.8.html

So if I don't launch nmbd how to see the LGMS400 using the windows explorer ? Is there any configuration to do ?
There is no way.

I was thinking about : "connect a network drive" using the ip address ?

Because is surely modified. I modify the sources too (without it not works) but I'm not Samba hacker so if someone wants to dealt with it, it can.

BTW: does the Ellion Samba pack works with Windows Vista/7 (both variants)?

TUTORIAL: PM/LG Menu v103 - Página 2 Empty PipeManagement Feature on MS409D (Australia)

Mensaje  nlee Jue Oct 14, 2010 2:24 am

Hi,

I have just loaded the new firmware and custom package onto my LG MS409D in Australia. The web interface works very well, but I am having trouble getting some of the PipeManagement features to work.

Those I am most interested in are the "After Recording Power Off Management" as I don't want the unit to shut down after recording is finished and the "Timer Management", as I don't like it reminding me that I am recording something when watching another channel. Both of these features work the same as before I installed the update. "Subtitles Management" also does not seem to remove subtitles from recordinging moved from the REC folder.

Has anybody else come across this or have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong that is preventing these from working properly.

Thanks,
Nigel

Hello Smile
you are a lucky man,
as just yesterday we release v3.2 of PM,
and so, you have only to upgrade to this version dialing 999 as a channel number, wait a minute, then restart lgmenu.
then check you have right version dialing 998,
is does not appear 32, repeat previous sequence.

Now, if you have version 3.2, and it still not working,
then it is time to use the first-aid kit; enter the numeric code 960, wait a minute and then restart lgmenu.

Good luck, and sorry for inconveniences, we had a little bug in previous release. (fixed from now on) Smile
